"IF THEY COME FOR ONE OF US, THEY COME FOR ALL OF US"
Encinitas Unity is an Indivisible group in the 49th congressional district. Proud members of The Resistance. We will peacefully but forcefully defend the rights of all Americans, protect our environment and restore the sanity and dignity of our great country.
We love our country and will not stand idly by while Donald Trump destroys what The United States has achieved over the last 238 years.
We are not politicians. We have no political aspirations. We formed Encinitas Unity because we have a duty to resist injustice.
Trump is a dictator who finds new and innovative ways to scare and embarrass us each and every day. It is chilling and unbelievable to find our country in this horrific position with few politicians willing to stand up and fight for us.
Please join our group as we march, call, write, organize and strategize.
We are going to vote out Darrell Issa who does not represent us and is too scared of The Resistance to host a town hall meeting for his constituents.
You do not need to be a resident of Encinitas, California to join us.
After Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, many of us were depressed, angry and scared. We were sick at the thought of all of our hard work being thrown away in a matter of months, sending our country and future generations into turmoil and suffering as a result of exclusionary and retrograde policies.
This anger propelled a small group of us to announce a march in downtown Encinitas, less than a week after the election. We decided to call it the "Unity March" because we wanted to be inclusive and promote healing.
The Encinitas Unity March was held on Sunday, November 13, 2016. We expected 30 people but over 500 men, women and children showed up. We marched down the 101 in downtown Encinitas toward Moonlight Beach, closing down the northbound 101 and a movement was started.
After that fateful Sunday, we created the Encinitas Unity Facebook page to continue the important work we started. Since then, our group has grown organically to almost 500, adding new people daily.
We joined the Indivisible movement after our first group meeting in early January.
We decided to join this group because the founders of Indivisible are former Congressional aides, skilled at managing and maneuvering the political system.
Indivisible helps organize and guide grassroots groups on best practices for resisting the Trump agenda.
